deadman wonderland -- ganta igarashi
»»Overall Appearance:
Troubled. So much in fact, people often wish to give him a hug whenever they see him. Marche (or Bean, which we’ll also refer to him as from now on) always had a slightly pathetic look. Whether it’s his embarrassed stare, his skinny frame, or the constant bruises he acquires, Bean never looked quite right. Some reason, he always had this worried expression on his face. His parents noted this whenever he wasn’t crying or laughing. His wide eyes were always tuned into everything going on around him. Something about them screamed suspicion. Lumiya, the boy’s mother, just figured it meant he’d always be out of harm's way.
From a medical standpoint, the ranger teen is entirely average. Yes, much of his weight is trained muscle, but he manages to meet all the standards. Therefore, it’s not impossible to lose him in a crowd. The run of the mill looks he has had always played to his advantage in such ways. His black, messy hair never needed much prep besides the monthly trimming. His eyes are even wider, due to his contacts being slightly larger than his pupils. The boy’s nose and mouth are humble, attracting little to no attention at all. Like graffiti on a blacktop, patterned bruises, each with their own story, mark up his body. Skinned knees and scabs make an appearance as well. His klutzy, relentless ways are most realized through the scratches.
Bean almost never leaves the house without his customized Ranger uniform. The navy and gold rework hosts more chains, strings, and buttons that a normal uni has. Great thing about the outfit is how it looks posh but can also be worn in the middle of the forest. Truly proud of his work, he sports a navy ranger cap as well. On the middle, above the lid, there’s a gold stitched icon of the Ranger’s crest. The brim lays low to cover his forehead, making the hat look like a paperboy cap.

Marche always had a get-up-and-go personality. His oomph probably could be exemplified through all the random things he teaches himself. His interests are wide, beyond the range of the rangers. With a spirit like that, he just dove headfirst into gymnastics, dancing, and all these other expensive hobbies that his parents dealt with. Bean’s liveliness most definitely ties with his fear of death. More than anything, the boy fears the sudden end of life. His constant experience through distant family members and neighbors in Prehnite has violently stuck with him. This fear of death is channeled off to the most important parts of his personality actually.
For example, Marche might be the most paranoid boy alive. He has a habit of checking all exits and entrances when he enters a building. His eyes are so sharp that he could pick up on suspicious activity from far away. He can tell if you snuck pickles on his sandwich! He despises pickles! In spite of this handy-dandy and sometimes obsessive hankering, he has often choked in the face of danger. Through his training at the academies, this has somewhat lessened to truly grave instances. Still, when the boy goes stone-faced, he stays that way for a while. It takes some energy to snap him out of the motionless trance.
With people, he simply cannot stand a bully. Anyone who shoves down their own philosophies down another’s throat would be considered a bully to him. He was always skeptical in school, but research always proved teachers right. The opposite sex is something of an enigma for the young man. He’s not quite sure if he’ll ever understand how to handle Smalltalk or anything of that nature. Bean’s very loving and can attach himself to something fast. He doesn’t come off as a full-on stalker or obsessive freak. He’s just willing to whatever for someone he’s fond of. That has a capability of being very bad.
»»Family: Kamala and Lumiya Walsh, Age 40, parents, doctor & nurse.
»»Other Important People: Linus Walsh, 19, elder brother, criminal.
»»History:
Seventh day of December, fifteen years ago, Marche was introduced to the world in the mysterious Diopside. His parents were originally lovestruck teenagers who were caught up in their romance and careers. After Linus, they balanced raising a child with their studies, and things ran smoothly. Marche was their second child, another disgrace to the two families who didn’t want them to be together in the first place. To further such outrage, the two left to the sprawling town of Prehnite. They found better routes for their careers in this new place; plus, it seemed like a better place to raise their boys.
Linus was always quite close his little brother. When dumb jockish types would mess with Bean on playgrounds, Linus was always there to get beat up in his place. The two often felt like fighters against the world and would return home with scars. When Marche turned nine years old, he was introduced to the lifestyle of the ranger. They frequently patrolled the growing metropolis for crime, and he revered them greatly. His brother on the other hand was impressed by fast money and easy women. ‘Twas around this time when their paths diverged.
Marche worked his butt off to hit all the requirements for the ranger academy. Once inside, he had to earn respect from just about everyone. He was the smallest and youngest of his class, weak at each sport besides gymnastics, and didn’t have any friends going into the school. He graduated four years in, with great grades across the board and friends that he left the academy with. Kamala and Lumiya had enough cash to purchase their own little clinic in the town. Things were looking up for each of them except Linus.
Fatefully, on Marche’s first assignment as a ranger, he stumbled upon his brother with a group of thugs that were stealing pokémon. Their encounter was pretty bad, with each brother walking away with broken bones. The cadet returned to his home to explain what happened, but saw his stitched-up brother going on about this Pergure Order. His parents seemed pleased by his involvement, but Marche was baffled. Instead of sticking around, the young teen moved to Carnelian to start anew. He thought that things would be simpler without so many ties to people.
