Maybe it was a bad idea to be wearing these shoes at all. All she wanted was a few more inches, just a few more! Just so she wasn't the tiniest wherever she went, so she wasn't literally looked down upon as she walked through the streets. But these weren't the streets, on top of this hill she'd get to see that weird rock everyone gossiped about, that glowed with the symbols! Talk about a mystery; Ophelia thought seeing it would be a great start to her adventure. That is, before she figured the ground was went and she'd be practically slipping everywhere more than she was actually walking. She tried to keep her composure though, after all, she didn't want some little punk catching her in the act of struggling against something so weak as a pair of shoes. She was a girl, after all, she could handle shoes! Walking up slowly as she could to the top, Cheveyo watched beside her, levitating along her side. Ophey liked having him out of his pokeball, any of her pokemon really. When you're a girl without friends, who cares when you have darling pokemon! Well, not darling, Chev was practically snorting at her troubles. He wasn't a help at all! Then again, what is a ball of gas going to do to help when it doesn't even have arms? "I'm almost there, don't give me that look!" She snapped at him, and to that he rolled his eyes, making a 'gaaaaaaaaasssssssly' noise of a moan in response. "This is our first town, then on to our first gym! And you better not let me down or I swear to fuckin Arceus--" The pale young woman took a moment to raise her clenched fist, her golden orbs glaring at her companion. Even though one can not really punch a ball of gas, the pokemon got the message. Loud a clear. As the pair approached the top of the hill, the Obelisk came into view. It was a grand hunk of rock, tall and proud standing for all to see. But, see what, exactly? No one really knew what it meant, why it glowed, what the symbols translated into...but that just made it cooler! The girl looked left, then right, to make sure no one could see the giddy face she was about to make as she sprinted towards the tower, eager to touch it. Her small, child-like hand grazed over the stone with enthusiasm. Gosh, she loved mysteries! She loved the adventure of it all! "What do you think it means?" She looked up to Cheveyo who was hovering above her, looking for himself. Another ghostly moan came in response, and an upward movement she thought translated into a shrug. She shrugged back. The girl was more relaxed with her pokemon, and that was surely saying something. ~♥~♦ all i want to do ♦~♥~ ~♥~♦ is be more like me ♦~♥~ Before she had died, the old woman who'd taken care of Kodi had been hoping to complete a sort of... bucket list. One of the things she hadn't gotten to do before parting ways was visit the strange glowing rocks, the Obelisks, spread out across the region. It wasn't one of his favorite things to do, travelling, but with the season still cool enough that planting crops was out of the question, he could afford a few weeks away from home. So with a quick check to make sure he had everything he needed and that the ranch was secured and locked up tight, he headed out for the first one on the old woman's list- the Strange Obelisk near Carnelian Town in the mountains. Lovely.
The journey lasted a day and by the time he'd reached the edge of town, he'd all but worn himself out. Biking wasn't the problem. It was the sudden hills that'd tired him out. Still, he could spare another hour or so before setting up camp or something. He still had a rock to find.
Stupid rock.
Still, he moved ahead, following his map carefully in hopes of finding the damned thing. It was only a few minutes later that he heard a strange sound coming from up ahead. Hesitating to continue, the boy reached for his pokemon. Quietly, he let Yen out, leaving Blu in her ball just in case.
The cat yawned widely and ran a paw over his face at first, pausing mid-swip to look up at Kodi. "Shh. C'mon." He crept forward and the meowth followed on quiet paws.
Once the owner of the sound was in sight, Kodi felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. A ghost... and a girl? A trainer, no doubt. And there, the stone! That damned Obelisk! He paused to scoop up Yen, who happily made himself comfortable in his partner's arms. "Excuse me, I don't suppose that's the Obelisk there?" He managed a cool smile as he approached, cautious but smooth with every step. He wasn't a trainer. He didn't like battling. Hopefully she'd understand.

Her lips were pursed with the tiniest smile, one that comes on a rarest of occasions. A smile that picked up her pale cheeks and pinched at her nose a bit, it almost felt awkward it was so unused. Like she had an odd twitch in her lip or something of the sort that needed to be pinched but no she was only smiling. But that all faded when she heard noise over the hillside. With a sharp glare over her shoulder, even Cheveyo looked over to see who it was. But it was just some kid and a cat. No one that seemed interesting enough, heck, he was a weirdo at best, he had a collar on for Arceus' sake! Ophelia and her Gastly snubbed the two newcomers at the same time, getting back to business upon looking at the stone, but the girl's smile was gone. Now what remained was her usual everyday scowl because dammit there were trespassers here. Maybe not trespassers by land, but they trespassed upon her peace and quiet! Her alone time! Her adventure time! Ugh! "Excuse me, I don't suppose that's the Obelisk there?" Oh fuck he was actually talking to her? Ophey looked over her shoulder, not even turning all the way to meet him with one cold stare painted upon her face. "Yeah. Obviously." Was her only response. What she really wanted to say was something along the lines of --Fuck yeah this is it you dumb fuck do you see any other fancy rocks around this dump you uneducated piece of shit?!-- But she held back, surprisingly. The way he smiled at her was coy and cocky, and she had the urge to smack it right off his stupidly good looking face. Cheveyo could tell his trainer was pissed off, but that just made him feel like he had the right of harassment to protect her. Or at least get a laugh out of her. And with that confidence on his shoulder that this was for their own personal good, the ghost pokemon turned invisible. When he reappeared, it was dead in front of this new trainer and his pokemon, with one hell of a scary face to greet them. "Ga-hah-hah-hah-hah-hahstly!" The pokemon's laugh was dark and creepy, like one of a horror movie. Ophelia let out a chuckle of her own; "Oh, he likes you." She said as sarcastic as can be. This poor damn fool didn't know what he was in for when he biked up that hill. If he did, the boy would've probably stayed home. ~♥~♦ all i want to do ♦~♥~ ~♥~♦ is be more like me ♦~♥~ The girl was not at all happy to see him. When she replied with venom, his smile faded a bit, though a hint of it remained forced on his face. Be polite, even if she's a bitch. "Aheh, just makin' sure. I look stupid now but I'd look eve-" He cut off as the ghost vanished, smile disappearing completely as his eyes scanned around the area. "Ghastly, right?"
In his arms, Yen's fur was on end, his eyes locked on the woman and not caring too much about the ghastly. They were tricksters, something he'd seen before. Nothing to worry about. It was the girl he didn't like at that moment. The glare didn't last long, though...
When the Ghastly reappeared, both Kodi and Yen startled. Kodi jumped back a step, his bike falling into the grass, and Yen leapt out of his arms and onto the grass infront of him, teeth barred in a hiss. For a moment, they both stared at the ghost, laughing his creepy laugh...
And then Kodi started to laugh. Derailed, Yen looked back at him, confusion written in his posture. "Holy crap, he's awesome!" He grinned at both of them as he recovered himself, bringing his bike back to his side and brushing a hand over Yen's back to calm him down. "Heh. So are you a trainer then, or coordinator...?"
Yen sat there staring, tail flicking in that annoyed cat way. He obviously didn't like this situation, despite Kodi seeming to get a kick out of having the shit scared out of him. Still, as long as the ice queen and her undead minion didn't try anything stupid, everything would be just fine.

He and his pokemon had jumped back in fright, his bike even almost fell over! He looked so stupidly spineless! Even if she had to admit the prank was a pitiful one and that the terrible two could always do better that that, it got a small chuckle out of her anyway. A sort of maniacal little giggle that made her place a hand to her mouth to hopefully add insult to injury. A job well done, Ophelia turned to look back at Obelisk. The punk would run away and leave her be, like all of the others usually did when confronted with her upfront disposition, but unfortunately for her that situation seemed to lean in the complete opposite direction to such an outcome. The noise that followed almost made her gasp. Almost. As it hit against her eardrums her pupils dilated, a sound like that made her feel like she was just punched in the gut, and she wondered for a split second if she was hearing things. This fool was laughing. Taking another moment to readjust her facial features to a more acceptable emotionless stare instead of her previously shocked stance, the girl turned to shoot a small glare at this guy. How could he be laughing at her? Laughing at all?! Ophelia looked to Cheveyo who had a similar look of disdain; what was up with this kid? "Holy crap, he's awesome!" The Gastly's confused expression melted into a scary smile, which was still a smile nonetheless. This guy had good taste. "Ghah-hah-hahstly!"Ophelia wasn't so happy about the whole thing. Ugh, this fool laughed at her. Why wasn't she punching his face in yet? Her hands were in fact balled up into fists, but her stubbornly crossed arms wouldn't unhinge. "Heh. So are you a trainer then, or coordinator...?" "Trainer. Don't forget it." She quickly spit back, hating the idea that he couldn't tell immediately. "Do I look like a prissy fuckin' coordinator to you?!" Her fires didn't cease, as she wasn't really the calmest of individuals. In fact, she was the opposite of calm. She glared at him, obviously insulted. "Coordinators are just the weaklings who couldn't train their pokemon right! They're just fussy little primadonnas that can't put up a decent fight because they'll get their idiotic costumes dirty! Ugh, I despise them, they're the sparkling glitter stain on the esteemed relationship between pokemon and trainer!"Cheveyo was nodding along, but took the time to float over and nudge itself against the angered girl, "Gaaaaaaaaastly" It cooed, it an small attempt to calm her down, or at least make her realize she was unreasonable freaking out over really nothing. On other occasions, the pokemon would adore her rage, but maybe it was because he liked this other trainer who called him awesome. Ophelia sighed, her nail that were digging into her palms loosened up a bit, "Ugh, besides, how the hell would I dress up Cheveyo anyway? He's a floating ball of gas." "Gha-hah-hah-hah-hahstly!" "Oh, shut up."[/style] [STYLE=width: 420px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 18px; text-transform: uppercase; text-align: center; margin-top: -7px; letter-spacing: -1px; color: #000000;] Cause I don't think that they'd understand [/style][STYLE=width: 420px; background-color: #D0D0D0; border: 5px dashed #a7a7a7; padding: 5px; font-family: arial; font-size: 9px; color: #000000; text-align: center; margin-top: -5px;]WORDS: 555 TAG: OPEN OUTFIT: HERE CREDIT: Izanagi of OtE & BtN [/style][/center]
