The steady hum from the crowd gathered filled the arena with energy. People and Pokemon alike had swarmed the place when the doors opened, eager to see the very first batch of coordinators in the very first Contest of their Region. Up above the stage, a likeness of the Ribbon that would be won hung, showing those what the lucky victor would receive. A man stepped out onto the grand stage, making a hush fall over. You could practically feel the tension in the air as he slowly raised the microphone to his mouth with a grace that must have been practiced.
"Welcome to the first official Contest of Bosena!" His voice rang out of the speakers. Only the mildest of electrical buzzes could be heard as he paused, as if thinking of what to say next, thought obviously just pausing for dramatics. "Today we have gathered here to see some of our Regions best and brightest perform amazing feats of beauty and grace with their Pokemon!" He put his hands up, and the crowd instantly roared and applauded. When he lowered the mic to his mouth again, all was instantly quiet as they hung on every word. "This first round is the Appeal Round, where the Trainer and Pokemon show off their moves! I would like you all to welcome our first contestants, Sharon Bloom and her partner Atta!"
The lights dimmed off of him and a curtain was pulled back. It showed the place where the participants would step out when their names were called. He took the time chance to slip off of the stage while the attention was diverted. Everyone was waiting breathlessly for the participant to make the appearance.

Kodiak Heir { Featuring Yen the Meowth } ~♥~♥~♥~♦~♦~♦~♥~♥~♥~
He didn't want to be there. He hated contests. He hated battling. He was a breeder, damn it! So why, of all people, was Kodiak Heir entered as a contestant in a pokemon contest? Because of an old debt, of course. Everything always went back to old debts. A bet, lost, you could say. He'd wagered his reputation for a dollar and lost- not only his clean record of being an anti-contest kind of guy, but he came out of it with fifty dollars lost. Stupid.
Still, it wasn't all bad. For any contest to participate in, the grand opening to the contest hall was by far the best choice. He'd been lucky to get his name in. In the crowd, he'd spotted the guy he'd made the bet with and even had the right mind to give him a good-natured wave from the sidelines, before being shooed back behind stage just as the contestants of the first round were called; Sharon Bloom and Atta.
He watched for a moment longer before turning to the rest of those competing. He wasn't just looking at the competition; he was looking for a particular girl who'd signed up. April. He'd parted ways with her days before, after a date on the town and a fun adventure before that. When he'd seen her name on the list of enties, he'd been decently excited to see her again.
Somehow, he hoped he wouldn't out-shine her and Elli. He was just there for the sake of the bet. She was there to win a contest. The last thing he wanted to do was to take that from her...
Yen, on the other hand, came to win and win hard. He stared across at the other pokemon with a straight face, giving nothing away in his gaze or posture. Calm. Collected. Confident but not cocky. He was in control, at least on the outside. Inside, he was just as excited as most of the contestants' trainers; his first real chance to shine. This would be fun, even if Kodi wasn't really in the game.

~April Arashi~ The Story of the Firedancer, starring Elli April was nervous, to say the least. This was her first real contest, in front of so many people! She had already sent in the needed props for her act, which was some shredded paper and a net to cover the top of the stage, but she was still sure she was going to mess up. If anyone didn’t recognize her, it was probably because she looked so different. Her normally short hair was extended with silvery black extensions, and for once, she was wearing a dress. It was a pretty shade of soft yellow, and it clung to her form for the sake of her act, since it would require a dress that wouldn’t catch anything and bring danger to her.
“Alright Ells, remember, step, right, step, don’t go in the same direction as I do okay girl?” Elli, who was sitting beside her, gave her a quick nod. April placed the matching yellow flower into her hair, and she was ready to go as far as appearance went. Elli was almost as nervous as April, but at the same time as confident as she could get. This act would involve timing and elegance, and however clumsy both may have been, they would have to work hard to make things work.
“Alright, let’s have a look around huh?” April muttered as she glanced around at the participants. Her gray eyes scanned gently, even though the first contestant had already been called on, and that’s when she spotted a familiar face. Kodi was here too? She had been looking forward to seeing him again, naturally after the time they had spent together before; she had become friends with him. Though, she wouldn’t expect to see him in a contest. She adjusted the heeled sandals as she tried to walk, finally readjusting to them, and headed over to him.
She took a deep breath and looked down at her dress for a moment. She hated having to change her looks for contests, but most girls who participated always looked beautiful, and even if she didn’t, she tried her best. Dismissing her appearance, April tapped Kodi on the back.
“Kodi? It’s nice to see you!” she mentioned as Elli came to a stop at her legs.

Kodiak Heir { Featuring Yen the Meowth } ~♥~♥~♥~♦~♦~♦~♥~♥~♥~
He'd apparently been looking the wrong way for her. A moment later, a tap to his back let him know where she was. He turned around on his heel and grinned when he saw her; she looked great! Sure, it wasn't his thing, girls dressed up in frilly dresses and heels, but despite how uncomfortable she must've been in that thing, he thought she looked nice. "Hey April. Great to see you. You look dazzling." He gave a quick bow and reached up to take her hand in for a quick kiss. Yen, beside him, looked over to Elli with a purr. It was always good to see friends, even if they were competition.
Kodi straightened up again and placed his hands in his pockets. He wasn't wearing jeans for once; in fact, he'd dressed up too, to an extent. A nice black dress shirt, matching pants with suspenders that hung to the sides, colored in red and gold checkers. His vest was a deep red and was worn unbuttoned, trimmed with gold. He wore his collar and his hair was brushed back, with some gel in to keep it out of his eyes. He was wearing some sort of cologne, something that wasn't too strong but smelled like a cross between Old Spice and Axe.
"I was hoping to see you before either of us went on stage. I saw your name on the sign-in sheet and regretted signing my name up." His grin became sly and he tilted his head slightly for effect. "I now know I don't stand a chance at winning, if you and Elli are here to steal the show." Of course, though, like with anything he did, Kodi would give it his all and Yen wouldn't take anything less than fantastic on stage.
Yen purred in agreement towards Elli, echoing his partner's sentiments and compliments. You're bound to win, Elli. We're just here 'cause Kodiak lost a bet. Another purr, this time of laughter. Yes, silly Kodi. Still, he was keeping his end of the deal. No one could frown on him for that.

~April Arashi~ The Story of the Firedancer, starring Elli April blushed when he complimented her and kissed her hand, but smiled all the same. She noticed how nice Kodi looked and carefully brushed the fabric of the vest to rid him of some specs of dust.
“Thanks Kodi! You look great too!” Elli looked over to Yen with a nod and a friendly smile. April listened to Kodi as he spoke attentively, and as soon as she realized that he was saying she’d probably win over him, she became flustered and was quick to dismiss it.
“Oh no don’t think of it like that! E-Elli and I are only armatures, and our appeal isn’t even all that great and…hmm…” instead of saying anything else, she turned her face to hide the deeper blush that had spread across her face. She had never been good with taking compliments, they made her feel a little embarrassed, since at home, she wasn’t really used to compliments. Elli raised an eyebrow. Not that great? She thought it was pretty cool regardless. She turned to Yen when she heard him and nodded.
We might win and we might not, but we have a chance if April can calm her nerves, I mean look at her! When Yen mentioned the bet, she couldn’t help but laugh. A bet eh? That has to suck just a bit. April meanwhile, recovered once her face returned to normal and called over to Elli.
“Elli, come over here!” Elli walked forwards and remained still as Elli wrapped a vine of tiny flowers around one of her antennae, smiling as she stood back up.
“There you go, now you look ready!” She turned back to Kodi and chuckled. “Well, you have to have a good act in mind hm Kodi?” she asked, finally giving in to her curiosity.

Kodiak Heir { Featuring Yen the Meowth } ~♥~♥~♥~♦~♦~♦~♥~♥~♥~
When April stepped forward to brush off his vest, he couldn't resist reaching up and gently tucking back a strand of her hair, careful not to pull or touch her skin. She took his compliments and became flustered, though, ruining the moment. He frowned, reaching to turn her back around by the shoulder. "I'm sorry, miss amature, but have you taken a moment to look around?" He waved a hand to the other contestants. "This is everyone's first contest. 'Sides, I don't think anyone's as connected with their pokemon as you are with Elli. The two of you are like sisters."
He let her move to decorate said pokemon. When she stood to face him again, he smirked, winking. "I have a couple tricks up my sleeve and Yen's in it to win it." Then, he reached forward in an attempt to take her hands in his, leaning in towards her and lowering his voice carefully. "I want to wish you luck out there, April. Remember this; it's not about winning. It's about being remembered. Make sure they notice you, that they remember you, and the victory is yours no matter who gets the silly ribbon."
If she let him, he'd lean in and kiss her forehead, hovering there for a second. "Loser buys the winner dinner, okay?" Yen watched, listened, from the floor, smirking in that knowing cat-like way. Kodi leaned back after that and smirked, quirking a brow in hopes she'd do that blushing thing she'd done the first time...

~April Arashi~ The Story of the Firedancer, starring Elli April had only just started looking around the room again when Kodi answered her question. When he said he and Yen would do their best, she took a second to look at Yen, a smile lighting up her face again. Elli gave her a thumbs up, letting her know she’d try just as hard. Now that she thought about it, her and Elli had only been together for a short time, but they were just like sisters. Still, there had to be some good bonds among the People and Pokemon around them.
April was a bit startled as Kodi suddenly took her hand, and held it there while he spoke to her. He was wishing her luck, and she definitely felt like this was a pep talk, with more seriousness than pep…which she was glad for. He leaned forwards, and she thought he might be planning to kiss her forehead or something, but instead he said the loser had to by the winner some dinner. Somehow, she was slightly disappointed, and failed to not show it, although she quickly recovered. As Yen smirked, it appeared Elli was the most confused in this situation. When he leaned back, April looked up at him, a pure blush on her face.
“Right! I’ll make sure that’s you!” She promised jokingly, before finally becoming slightly more serious. “But I wish you guys luck too. Whatever you’re entered for, it’s good to do your best. That’s everything my uncle James told me!” She mentioned with a smile. She then focused her attention back on the screen. She had to wonder how the first appeal would go, and hopefully she would be able to follow it up well enough.

The announcer clicked his tongue in disappointment. So it seemed that the very first contestant was a no show. They had waited an ample amount of time, but she had never shown. They had no choice but to move on to the next contestant. A ripple of irritation echoed through the crowd. This person hadn't shown up? How dare they! Did they just join it for sport? Had everyone here wasted there time in coming here? He had to reign in these feeling before people started getting mad and leaving.
"It seems that Sharon Bloom could not join us this evening, for whatever reason. As such, she will be disqualified from this contest." He paused as boos came from the crowd, showing their impatience. "But fear not! We have three other contestants just for your entertainment! As such, we will move on to the next one!" A dramatic intake of breath, signaling the waiting people to be silent. "April Arashi and her partner Elli are here for you!"
{sorry for the wait. i was trying to give sharon ample time to post, but.... to long. it can continue as normal now and i hope it didn;t cause to much trouble}

~April Arashi~ The Story of the Firedancer, starring Elli April’s breath nearly caught in her throat as she heard her and Elli’s names being called over the MC’s microphone. She took a deep breath and then smiled at Kodi before returning Elli to her Ball Capsuled Pokeball. She smoothed her yellow dress and drew in another deep breath before heading for the exit into the stadium. The Bright lights flashed upon her as she entered through, her dress shimmering against the bright bulbs power. Finally, she came to stand center stage as a giant net was set up above the ring. April waited until the crowds noise had died down, and took Elli’s Pokeball into her palm.
“Elli, let’s get this done!” she cried out. In an outburst of flames from the sealed capsule, Elli came spilling from the Pokeball, flipping to land on the ground next to April. The light dimmed so just the spotlight was on, focused on April and the Yellow Elekid. April took one final breath and closed her lids over her gray eyes, to focus better on what she had to say.
“…And so begins the story of the Firedancer.” She said, calmly enough. “Fire punch.” April commanded. Elli quickly shot over to one of the walls and ricocheted off of it, landing onto the net above April’s head. She formed fire in one of her fists and punched the net, jumping off before the fire spread under her paws. She made her way back to April, and a couple of people who worked in the stadium flew just above her on a set of Pidgeot. They began dumping scraps of something that looked like paper down at the same time a song started playing. As the paper passed through the flaming net, it caught fire, raining down of Elli and April. Though as if just in time, they began to move to avoid them.
Once they got more comfortable, the twists and turns could be made out as dance moves. Left, forwards, right, spinning. Their movements matched the sync and tempo of the song. Both April and Elli were very agile, despite their appearances. They were dodging the flaming paper with clever dance steps. The papers, now little floating embers, floated to the floor as the two avoided each one, their daqnce becoming as graceful as they could make it as they neared the end.
April, right at the end, raised her arm as the embers stopped coming, and Elli used her quick attack to bounce off the poles that held the still burning reinforced net, andcrash into the net itself. The already crumbling net fell just as April moved out of range, and it hit the floor, where the embers that were still burning on it fizzled out. With a bow, April and Elli were off the stage just as quickly as they had come on. April panted, and looked Elli over.
“You did great girl!” Elli pointed to a part of April’s dress that had been charred, and April waved it off.
“No worries Ells, I put it out before I could feel it on my skin." April sat beside Elli, and began to brush out her hair to get the small charred papers out, not that there were many there to start.
OOC: I hope that wasn't hard to follow but if it was, basically, Elli and April used Elli's Fire Punch and Quick attack to create a dance that April called the story of the Firedancer. You'll probably need to check the link I put in the post for the song if you want to more or less get the pace of the song they were dancing to (On the word song)~
