Where do I go? If you have never tried then you will never know
She settled against the obelisk, her shoulders supporting her, her head resting against the ancient monolith. Some might’ve seen it as blasphemous to do such a thing, resting against a place of worship... but Emi Lantus was in mourning. So to allow the obelisk to hold her up and to rest there in prayer, in her own mind was no more blasphemous than to stand up in church and walk to the front to pray in front of the alter without anyone’s permission.
It was an act of faith, an act of need.
Arceus help her continue on.
It felt nice on her bare-shoulders, the cool weight of the monument. It almost washed away the pain she was feeling inside, as she sat there amongst the silence. Just a few miles away, she knew the funeral was still moving along. She didn’t feel much like greeting family members and trying to stay strong.
So, there she was pressed against the obelisk, dressed in mourning attire. She perhaps looked like a ghost awaiting her lover who’d gone to war, standing there quietly in her white dress and immaculate hair, leaning against something sacred to the Village of Diopside. Her eyes were waterlogged and puffy, but Emi had avoided crying thus far.
She wrapped her arms around herself, hugging her shoulders as she stared at the sky.
Neve was somewhere around, the little happiny on the other side of the obelisk, peeking at her sorrowful master. Neve had not known Emily very long, and had barely seen her after hatching... to watch her master drowning in sorrow was... disheartening.
She bobbed around the monolith, trying to find some way to cheer her lady. Dancing had not worked, singing had not worked, bringing her mommy shiny rocks had not worked. It was all very disheartening.
The little normal-type paused, her eyes flicking about. Maybe she could find someone to bring Emi out of her sadness. Perhaps there was someone nearby she could lead to the monolith...
“Happppyy~” She trilled after throwing a quick glance at Emi, and started to march into the forested bits around the obelisk. The Happiny had a person to find! A person that could cheer Mistress Emi up!
How long do I have to climb Up on this side of this mountain of mine?

He wasn't use to tall buildings, tall trees, tall anything. It was strange to him to have to move through the trees instead of just walk in a straight line like he did in his hometown to get anywhere. He felt strangely alone, and also had a bit of a creepy feeling like he was being watched. Shuddering at the thought, Yuuto pulled his bag up higher on his shoulders and walked a little faster. The forest was strangely quiet – wasn’t it supposed to be filled with happily hooting HootHoot and some other bird Pokemon? He wasn’t hearing any of that now. Yuuto’s mind started to wander, as he continued to walk. He thought of the beaches of his hometown, and the open sky. He longed to see that open sky again. The sound of a Pokemon quickly dragged him out of his thoughts. It didn’t sound like any Pokemon he had heard before; But then again, he hadn’t seen a lot of Pokemon. Mostly Water types. Unsure of what to do since he was such a new Trainer, he grabbed Alpa’s, his Buizel, Poke Ball. He tossed it, letting Alpa out of his ball. The Buizel stretched, then started sniffing and looking all around him. He froze at the sound of the strange Pokemon. Alpa didn’t seem to know what to do. He was still pretty young, and he wanted to make his Trainer proud of him. But he was also very timid in nature, and his first instinct was to run behind his Trainer for protection. That was exactly what he did. Looking down at the Buizel, Yuuto was a little surprised at his behavior, but it was also to be expected. He walked forward carefully, and noticed the trees were thinning out. Were they coming to the end of the forest? A flash of pink distracted him from his thoughts, and he felt Alpa press up against his leg. He had obviously seen the strange Pokemon as well. Sniffing slightly, Alpa approached the area where they had seen the pink flash. After a few seconds, he let out a happy but alert bark-like call for his Trainer. “Bui! Buizel!”[/style][STYLE=width: 436px; background-color: #a7a7a7; margin-top: 3px; font-family: Cordia New; font-size: 6px; text-transform: uppercase; text-align: center; letter-spacing: 3px; color: #ffffff]MADE BY KEROHOLIC BASED ON CRAYOLA'S TUT OF BTN![/style]

Where do I go? If you have never tried then you will never know
It was almost startlingly quiet, leaned against a rock of faith and mystery, without a sound offered. The fact of why it was so quiet didn’t quite hit Emi until her thoughts turned towards the little creature that was supposed to be accompanying her. There was no soft cooing, no happy giggling, not even shy trills echoing around her.
“... Neve?” Emi half whispered, in a way that offered both terror and uncertainty. There was no reply, no trill of ‘over here, over here, mommy-’, not even a giggle. Emi pushed herself off the obelisk, rubbing at her water-logged eyes.
Her mind was not exactly in the right place to start with, and she could feel the panic settling in like a glameow nestling down in a windowsill. “No, no, no, no...” She muttered to herself, a weary glance around the forest.
Maybe the little creature had gotten fed-up with her sultriness and wandered into the forest, trying to find new friends. If she was lucky, Neve had run off trying to find Eri, or was looking for a flower to cheer her up. Emi hugged herself again, trying to ease the troubled panic.
“Neve!” She called a bit louder, “Where are you?”
---------------
Neve found herself in the company of two creatures, which was heartening. For one, they looked somewhat lost, and secondly, they looked perfectly lovely. She danced forward-towards the Buizel that had found her, a spring in her step, and stood in front of them.
“Happp~ ennnhheyy~” She decreed, somewhat pointing towards herself, before stretching her arms out in an almost... hug like pose. She stood there, trilling, “Heeee... Haphap.” The Buizel looked as if it would not really like a hug, but the stranger whom was following the water-type look as if he might enjoy one.
She waved her arms expectantly, and then turned back towards the forest she had trotted through. She waved her arms some more. The normal-type was trying to explain things rationally, but it was hard to explain that she needed to borrow another pokemon’s human for her human.
It was a complicated matter.
“Preee.” She said, speaking mostly to the Buizel, “Hap...”
Once more she pointed into the woods from which she had wondered out of, a soft smile on her face. She hoped the Buizel would help her, and bring his master along with him.
She began to stroll back into the forest, headed for the monolith, hopeful that the blue-haired human and the sleek orange otter followed. For she enjoyed orange and blue, and she felt that, yes, mayhaps Emi would enjoy orange and blue too.
Did that make sense? She paused, glancing backwards to see if they were following...
And found an echo of, “Neeveee-” reach her ears.
She trilled, waving once again at the two creatures. Hurry, hurry, she thought, my mother is getting worried about me.

It was the little pink blob he saw flash by in the corner of his eye. He smiled at it, it was one of the most adorable things in the world, and it seemed to be trying to tell him something. He watched as the Pokemon pointed at herself, then stretched her arms. What was she trying to say? Yuuto tilted his head to the side, trying to make sense of what she was saying. Alpa seemed to understand what the Pokemon was saying as she pointed towards the way she had come. The Buizel ran behind Yuuto and gently pushed on his legs to make him move forward. "You want me to follow her?" he asked. Buizel let out a sound that seemed to be his way of saying yes. The pink Pokemon had already started heading through the trees. Still at a loss of what was going on, Yuuto followed the Happiny and let Alpa follow along beside him. The sound of a human voice reached Yuuto's ears, and he looked up from the Happiny he was following. "Is that your trainer?" he asked her. She trilled, and he and Alpa quickened up their pace. Was her trainer in trouble and she was trying to find help for her? It wasn't long before the trees opened up into a clearing with a strange ruin in the middle. A young, blond girl was leaning up against it. She didn't look hurt, but she did look upset. Alpa ran behind Yuuto to hide from the strange person, and Yuuto approached her. "Hello, miss. Um... Is this your Pokemon? She was in the forest and she led us here," he said, gesturing to the Buizel still hiding behind him shyly. He rubbed the back of his head, unsure of what to say next. Maybe he should introduce himself to her? It didn't seem like a good time, but maybe he could help her. She still looked upset. Squatting so he was on her level, he held out his hand. "I'm Yuuto Kiyoshi. Are you alright?" he said. Where do I go? If you have never tried then you will never know
<Momma~> “Happ~” Neve bounced into the scene, thankfully relieving some of the panic her trainer was feeling. The rustle of leaves and thud of running shoes alerted Emi to the creatures Neve had brought back. She presumed they’d been following her because really...
Neve didn’t have any sense of social boundaries, and she just went and did as she pleased. She was rather good at getting people to follow along at least, being so adorable. Sometimes she did get in trouble though...
“Neve, you naughty, naughty creature.” She half whispered to her starter, bringing her arm up to her face and trying to wipe away any stray tears. The happiny just trilled again, happily clinging to her trainer’s leg.
She was taken by slight surprise when the fellow got down on her level and offered her a hand. Though, she was put off on wether it was a hand offered in greeting... or a hand offered in peace. She took it as the first, as he spoke, and tried to talk without sounding like she'd ruined her ability to speak...
With everything that was going on, she felt like someone had her by the throat, and wouldn't let go.
“I, uhm... Emi Lantus.” Emi managed, taking his hand and shaking it. She shook her head slightly, listening to her pokemon giggle, “Yes... Neve is mine, I’m sorry if she dragged you away from anything important. T... thank you for bringing her back.”
She turned quiet, thinking on the rather obvious answer to his other question. “I... I’ve... felt better.” There was something startling sad about being confronted by a stranger on her feelings. Well... not confronted...
Emi shyly stared at his face for a moment, noting his kind expression, before turning her eyes elsewhere, unable to bring herself to speak further on what might have been bothering her. She clung to her knees and looked towards the pokemon hiding behind Yuuto.
“... you have a handsome buizel.” She mumbled quietly, her thoughts somewhat cheered at the sight of the shy water-type.

He wasn't good at that sort of thing, and repeating helped him a lot. He smiled a little bit as she explained about the little Happiny, who was clinging to her trainers leg happily. "It was no problem. She all but dragged us here," he said with a slight chuckle. "I think she wanted to find someone to help you." He grinned at the Happiny and gently rubbed her head. Unsure of what to say, he leaned back until he was sitting, and crossed his legs in front of Emi. "I...I've...felt better," she said. Yuuto tilted his head to the side. "Well, I hope you feel better," he told her. He wasn't the kind of person to pry into someone else's life, especially if he just met them. It was rather rude. He smiled when she indicated Alpa, who peeked around from behind Yuuto at the sound of her speaking. "Thanks. He's a handful, but he's a great starter. Is your Happiny your starter?" he asked. Maybe if he kept the conversation going, it would make her feel better. It seemed to be working. Reaching around behind him, he grabbed Alpa and brought him onto his lap. The little Buizel sniffed at Emi, unsure of what to think about her. She was new - unfamiliar. The Buizel seemed to deem her alright, though, and let out a happy sound. "Bui!" Yuuto rubbed Alpa's head, smiling gently. "I think he likes you. He hasn't really met a lot of new people yet - I think he's still a baby." A moment passed, and he looked down at the Buizel in his lap. He felt awkward, like he had just interupted something private. He shouldn't have followed the Happiny, but the hero complex in him just wouldn't let him leave the Happiny alone. He needed wanted the girl to be happy again. He didn't like seeing anyone sad, even a stranger. Yuuto had an idea. He wasn't sure if this would cheer Emi up, but it was definitely worth a shot, at least. "Alpa," he said. The Buizel looked up at his Trainer from his lap tilting his head to the side just like Yuuto does. "Want to do your trick for Emi?" he asked. "Bui!" Alpa responded. He got up and placed Alpa on the ground, proceeding to dig around in his backpack. "We found this ball a couple of months ago, and Alpa learned how to do a trick with it," he explained, holding the tennis ball he found in his outstretched hand for Emi to see. Alpa was sitting on his hind legs, orange tail wagging, ready for the trick to begin. He was just like Yuuto, and wanted his Trainers new friend to be happy like he was all the time. It wasn't long before Yuuto had tossed the ball to Alpa. With a small "Bui!" of excitement, Alpa caught it and proceeded to lean back until the ball was on his nose. He balanced it there for a few seconds before lifting his foot and placing his tail on the ground. When he got a good hold, he lifted his other foot until he was balancing on just his tail. A few more seconds, and then he tossed the ball back to Yuuto and landed on all fours. "Ta da!" Yuuto said, holding his arms out. He hoped this made her feel a little better. It was a weak gesture, but it was a gesture all the same.[/style][STYLE=width: 436px; background-color: #a7a7a7; margin-top: 3px; font-family: Cordia New; font-size: 6px; text-transform: uppercase; text-align: center; letter-spacing: 3px; color: #ffffff]MADE BY KEROHOLIC BASED ON CRAYOLA'S TUT OF BTN![/style]
