[STYLE=border-left: 5px solid #f4f4f4; padding: 20px; text-align: justify;] This was it. The moment he had been waiting for, where his journey would now begin into a world where it was almost impossible to turn back against. Pokemon; creatures who inhabited the land and made it their own, shaped it as they would. It was trainers like Zack here, who wanted to capture as many as he could and learn about them, while striving to become the Champion of the region. It was a monumental task, not something a fourteen year old kid should be embarking on. That was why he wanted it, though. To prove to the world he was something, had potential to be more that a kid with some Pokemon. Zack didn't want to face his fears, however. Both of his Pokemon, a Staryu and a Farfetch'd both required to be close to a substantion body of water, well - what he declared as substantial in order to feel like they were in their natural habitat. Zack didn't want to start off on a bad foot with them, he could understand being near a pond, maybe even a lake so long as he was a fair bit away from it. Never the ocean, though. He wasn't ready to conquer that one yet. Thankfully for him, this part of the region was a rugged mountain side. This was usually the kind of Pokemon he had a mind for, not that he wanted to stick to any particular type like most people. A well-balanced team, so he wouldn't have any hitches along the way. Hopefully a team of Pokemon who were actually willing to listen to him, too. That would have been most helpful. The young trainer didn't exactly come in attire fit for a mountain climber, however. A casual shirt, knee shorts and a pair of comfortable shoes was all he had on. The sun was shining rather strongly, though the bag on his back was complete with the essentialls. Eight Pokeballs, a bottle of water and a map of the region so he didn't get lost. A packed lunch was also there, though he would have to use it sparsley before he got to each city in order to eat properly. "I hope I do well." There was a lurking sense of anticipation in his stomach, that maybe he would or wouldn't be good enough to handle this sort of thing. After all, he had a never back down determination but that may have only of taken him so far. It wasn't as if he was one of these Pokemon masters, who knew everything about their Pokemon and developed a close bond. How he wish he could skip to that sort of time, where he and his Pokemon were so synchronized that nothing could throw them off. Maybe one day they would be but until then, he would have to work with what he had. Not that there was anything wrong with his own Pokemon, he just wanted to capture and befriend other Pokemon, too. It would have been a good idea to become friendly with his starting Pokemon, but he would need something to provoke that. His eyes squinted for a moment, there was something on the rocky distance, emmitting a sort of gleaming shine. Walking towards it, eagerly tightening the grip he had on the strap of his bag, he had come to notice a small Aron, climbing up the mountain side. "O-oh man. My first wild Pokemon encounter..." Suddenly there was a lump in his throat. Could he really take on an Aron? It was a Steel-type Pokemon, he knew that. Though they evolved into quite vicious Aggron when they were matured and trained properly. His father had a huge, bulking Aggron when Zack was younger, watching it work in the mines. The Aron may have looked small now, but it could have become a very imposing Pokemon if he trained it. Wild Aron appeared! The Aron seemed to be trying to climb up the mountain side, in order to get to a small cave opening quite high up. Perhaps it had fallen down and was now trying to work its way back to its home. Zack scratched the back of his head, he really didn't want to hurt the Aron and end up getting chased by a family of Lairon and Agron. If he didn't take chances however, he probably wouldn't have gotten anywhere. Who was he kidding? Take on anything more than that Aron? He didn't stand a chance. Instead, he considered helping the little guy. Walking over cautiously to it, Zack raised a brow as he tried to figure out how to get it back up there. The little Aron looked like it have given up on trying to get back to its home, clawing away at the rock helplessly. Zack leaned down to it, making his presence known to the Pokemon. "Hey there," He started, bending his knees and leaning down. "I can try help you get up there, I guess..." The Aron looked up curiously to him, as Zack extended a hand and offered his assistance. The Pokemon seemed willing to do what it had to, in order to get back to its family. Reaching down, he puit the Pokemon on his back, who had latched itself onto the shoulders of his shirt. Carefully, Zack kicked his leg up onto each rock, slowly climbing up the steep incline in order to try and get the Pokemon back to its home. Suddenly there was a rumble, there had been smaller rocks that started to part from the mountain and roll down towards him. Zack managed to avoid most of them, before one had smacked him on the forehead and he fell backwards onto the ground. A blast of dust erupted upwards as he landed, though the Aron had jumped ship before he had hit the ground. That almost seemed like an Earthquake or something, it was really powerful tremors. Wiping his forehead, he looked up to see something he dreaded. A powerful Aggron, standing and letting out a loud roar. It was hard to tell if it was concerned or discontent at the situation. Zack, unsure of what to do looked over to the Aron, who seemed to take up a position of battle. That was it, this was some sort of rite of passage for the Pokemon. They would have to battle... that was nerve-racking in itself. Taking a Pokeball from his belt, Zack threw it hesitantly to the ground. "Go, FarFetch'd!" The small bird Pokemon appeared from a glowing white light, forming into the shape of the Pokemon. It let out a cry, its leek safely protected within its hand and held towards its chest. The Aron made the first move in going for the tackle and FarFetch'd didn't even need any instruction in order to avoid the steel head flying at it. This Pokemon seemed desperate to acknowledge its father or mother, but Zack couldn't lose his first battle! "FarFetch'd, use Poison Jab!" The Pokemon charged in as fast as it could, smacking it with its wing in a fist motion, but it worked no good on the Aron. Of course, Steel Pokemon were resistant to poison attacks. That little bit of information would have provided helpful in this battle. Suddenly it charged again, knocking FarFetch'd off to the side, who got right back up and looked rather angrily at the Aron. Zack shouted, "Use Peck!" The FarFetch'd did so, running forward and pecking the top of the Aron's head, forcing at back each time the beak rattled against the metal frame. The small Pokemon took the beating as the Aron again tried the tackle but by now, FarFetch'd was well handled on how this Pokemon liked to deal. Letting its momentum run against it, FarFetch'd stepped aside. "Fury Cutter!" The FarFetch had started brutally hitting the Aron back and back again, until it was clearly scratched and struggling to cope with the battle. Its eyes looked heavy and Zack commanded the FarFetch'd to stop, looking at the Pokemon sympathetically. Despite flopping to the ground, it tried its best efforts to get back up. "Please... stop fighting." Zack pleaded, "I don't want to hurt you anymore. You're strong... I want you to come with me on my journey." The Aron seemed to flop in submission, but the Aggron might have had different ideas. Looking up to it, Zack had for the first time, made direct eye contact with the Pokemon. It would be up to the parent if it let its Aron go, or lay the smack down on Zack. [/style] |
